Year 2000, Rhoden and Magie met because of Rhoden’s workmate. Rhoden’s workmate had a textmate who worked at a grocery store in Parañaque. When they planned to meet, the workmate gave Rhoden’s name to the girl, so Rhoden had to go with his coworker to meet her. When they arrived at the girl’s workplace, Rhoden saw Magie standing on the second floor. That was the moment he fell in love with her at first sight. After that, Rhoden started courting Magie and would go to Parañaque three times a week just to see her. One year later, Magie finally said “yes” to Rhoden. They became a couple and later introduced Magie to Rhoden’s parents. Fast forward to August 2006, Magie gave birth to a girl named Rachelle, and yes, that’s me.

When I was a child, we usually went to Manila to visit our relatives. One of my most memorable experiences was when we had a vacation there. We spent time together as a family and visited many places. The most memorable part of our trip was going to Star City. We enjoyed riding different rides and eating many delicious foods. We created many happy memories that I will always remember.

One time in my life, when I was 2 years old, my mother and I went to a fiesta. There were many people and delicious foods everywhere. Everyone was happy and enjoying the celebration, but suddenly an incident happened that almost killed me. It was a very frightening experience for my family, especially for my mother. Thankfully, I survived and became safe after the incident.

Another painful experience happened when I was in Grade 4. I had an ulcer that caused me so much pain and discomfort. My stomach hurt badly, and because of that, I could not eat properly. There were times when I could not move or stand because of the pain, and I stayed in bed most of the time. Thankfully, I survived that painful experience too.

In the year 2011, our family celebrated New Year with so much happiness. We were complete and happy together during that special occasion. Everyone was smiling, eating together, and enjoying the celebration. We exchanged greetings and watched colorful fireworks as we welcomed the new year. It was one of the happiest moments of my life because we were complete and creating beautiful memories that I thought would last forever.

However, our happiness changed the following year. On November 23, 2015, my uncle passed away. It was one of the saddest moments in our family. I always heard my grandmother crying every night because she could not accept my uncle’s sudden death. I was very close to him because he treated me like his own child and became like a second father to me. Losing him left a deep pain in my heart that I will never forget.

Fast forward to August 15, 2024, it was my 18th birthday. At first, we did not plan to celebrate because I did not want to, but the night before my birthday, I suddenly got sick. Because of that, my parents and grandmother decided to prepare a celebration for me. My grandmother believed that when someone gets sick before their birthday, they need to celebrate so the birthday girl will be healed. Many foods were prepared, and the celebration became happy and memorable. Some of my friends and relatives came to celebrate with me. One of the most unforgettable moments was when my father gave me a laptop as his gift. I am very grateful for all their sacrifices and love for me.

In my college journey, I experienced many memorable moments such as celebrating birthdays with my friends, going out together, having sleepovers, and enjoying late-night swimming. Even though college life became busy and stressful, my friends made it brighter and happier. Because of them, my college life became meaningful and unforgettable.

As I look back on my life, I realized that I experienced both happy and painful moments that helped me become who I am today. From celebrating special occasions with my family to losing someone important to me, I learned many lessons in life. All the experiences I had taught me to appreciate every moment with the people I love.
